Mindfulness Meditation Workshop may help you.
There are various types of meditation practiced world-wide; many forms of meditation provide the basis of spiritual and/or religious practices and some are part of personal development, general well-being enhancement and stress management programs.
In recent years, the effects of Mindfulness Meditation in management of chronic pain, stress-related illnesses, anxiety and mild depression have been a focus of research. Most studies have revealed significant benefits to both physical and mental health as a result of regular practice of Mindfulness Meditation.
Mindfulness meditation has been an important aspect of Yoga meditation practices for at least several thousand years; it is believed that it is through the practice of meditation that the sages and rishis of old developed the understanding of how the human mind operates and the extraordinary relationship that exists between the mind and the body. The Yoga meditation practices that evolved in those times are as relevant today as they were hundreds of years ago – possibly even more so.
This 3-hour workshop focuses on the benefits of Mindfulness Meditation in maintenance of good mental health and physical well-being.
The objectives of the workshop are
• To expand and enhance knowledge of meditation (particularly Mindfulness Meditation) of participants,
• Discuss various MM practices,
• Explain how MM works and the most beneficial uses of MM and
• Share practical examples of MM techniques with participants.
COST: $50 per person (10% discount for pensioners); Yoga Australia members free
