Yoga Teacher, Medical Herbalist, Biologist

Susan is School Director of Namaste Yoga School, Kurrajong and Registered Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Australia and a Registered GOLD designation Yoga Teacher Trainer with Yoga Alliance with over 30 years experience in Yoga practice and teaching. After studying Traditional Hatha & Raja Yoga with Acharya Upendra Roy from 1972 -1977, Susan went on to study medical herbalism, remedial therapies and has an Honors Bachelor of Science in biology and ecology.

The content of classes offered at Namaste Yoga Kurrajong includes traditional pranayama, meditation and Hatha Yoga techniques, supported by contemporary understanding and applications of Yoga, delivered in an informal & comfortable teaching environment.

Although we are a small and local Yoga school we offer classes almost every day (except Mondays). Our early morning Saturday and Sunday classes are very popular with local residents who cannot get to our evening or weekday classes and many enjoy a healthy breakfast at one of Kurrajong’s cafes or a breakfast picnic in the park after class. Beginner, Regular and Intensive levels of ability are catered for enabling students to gain maximum benefit from the class and experience progress over time. Classes are also available for Seniors and those recovering from injury or illness and with other special health needs.

At all times the safety and needs of each individual student are considered.
Students are encouraged to incorporate all facets of Yoga practice into daily life in a balanced and harmonious way to enhance physical mental and spiritual well-being. Yoga Teacher Training Courses and workshops were introduced in 2013 and we now look forward to offering CPE training and a mentorship service. We love visits from other Yoga teachers and to network and share Yoga.

We also have a second Yoga Room over-looking the picturesque Memorial Park and this is available for hire for your seminars, workshops or classes. Just contact us, we would love to hear from you!

Susan has extensive experience in adult education at a tertiary level and in science research.
